Get home safely this Christmas
Christmas and New Year sees more office parties and drinks with friends than at any other time of the year.
That means there’s usually a high demand for cabs and taxis as people try to get home late at night.
If you’re out and about late at night, always use a licensed minicab, taxi, bus, train or the Tube to get home.
Cllr Nilgun Canver, Cabinet Member for Enforcement and Safer Communities, said “It can be tempting to use unlicensed cabs when you’re leaving parties.
“However, it’s important that people don’t put themselves in a vulnerable situation.
“If anything does happen, there’ll be no way of finding out who the driver is. Always use a licensed taxi or cab - or, if possible, use public transport.”
To use the Cabwise scheme, text HOME to 60835* to get the numbers of one taxi and two licensed minicab firms, in the area you are texting from. (*Texts are charged at 35p per enquiry plus standard text message rate.)
