Latest: Card Cloning in KT
Message: Hi there,
I thought I'd write to you regarding card cloning in Kentish Town as I and several of my friends and friends of friends who all live just off Kentish Town Road (we're talking about eight or so people and I don't even know many people in KT) have had their cards cloned and used to take out a couple of hundred pounds each from cashpoints in Canada, Egypt and Australia. It seems like too much of a coincidence that it's happened to all of us for it not to be a local problem. The biggest common denominator seems to be the cashpoint outside the Tesco on Kentish Town Road, that Tesco and the Somerfield on KTR. I wonder if you've had any more such reports? I called the local police but they say there's nothing they can do, which seems doubtful - I'm sure if people can work out the root of this and then it can be investigated! I know it's a hard crime to tackle but it seems like if the community discusses the matter we can firstly warn each other and secondly try to stamp it out!
I don't want to become a victim again, I don't want to be afraid of using my card or cashpoints and I don't want it to happen to others!
